The first stage of the backyard football championship of Ukraine held in Poltava has ended. Victories in the tournament were won by Meteor – in the age category 9-10 years old and Barvinok-Vorskla — in the 11-12 age category. In the final, both teams fairly convincingly outplayed their peers from the first boarding school Molod with a score of 5: 1 and 4: 1, respectively.
On the day of the finals, the weather in Poltava was a little disappointing. Rain was watering the football field, but this did not affect the tournament. There were proposals for the matches to postponed. The guest of honor of the tournament Andriy Biba interfered with the situation.
“The match will take place in any weather, let the future champions get used to it,” the legendary football player of Dynamo Kyiv and the USSR team said.
The second qualifying stage at the end of June will be Kyiv, and then similar tournaments will be held in Zaporozhia, Kharkiv and Donetsk. The winners of the finals at the end of summer will play in Crimea at the International Children’s Center Artek.
