More than two dozen teams of young footballers from all over the region gathered in Poltava. It was from Poltava region that the first all-Ukrainian children’s championship in backyard football egan in honor of the legendary Ukrainian football players Andriy Biba and Volodymyr Muntian.
Regional competitions were dedicated to Children’s Day, and this is one of the stages of the implementation of the President’s program for the development of young talent. And for young players – this is primarily an opportunity to measure their strength with peers and show skills in their favorite game of millions.
At the opening of the championship young football players from all over the region gathered. Competed in two age groups — ages 9-10 and 11-12 years.
For some, this is the first serious competition. For seniors – another chance to test your strength on the field. And every young athlete seriously took part in the championship.
It is courtyard tournaments – this is a chance for each child to express themselves, say experienced athletes. In earlier times, there were backyard pitches in every back yard and the search for future champions was made as simple as possible.
At the closing of the first round of the championship of backyard football on June 1 legendary football players and now coaches Andriy Biba and Volodymyr Muntian were in attendance. They were honored for their sporting achievements and thanked for supporting the tournament.
Organizers of the sports festival was the Poltava City Executive Committee along with All-Ukrainian Federation of Backyard Football awarded prizes to the winners of the tournament and all participants.
